Are gas prices on their way up or down?

-I am going on a big road trip within the next couple of weeks and I am wondering if gas prices are going to go up or down. Of course no one can tell the future, but I know some people are very good at predicting gas price trends. Thanks for your help!I would guess that the closer congress gets to the deadline for raising the debt ceiling, the higher fuel prices will go. This debt problem is causing a lot of instability and uncertainty in the markets.The gas prices arent going to change much in the next couple of weeks, but over the coming year you can expect to see the same cycle that the gas prices have been on for years. They will raise the prices to new high's and then drop the price for a short time before raising them again.
