Has anyone ever paid for an all day pass for Metro and when security checked it, it was empty?

-I was going to take a ride somewhere out in LA for an errand. Paid my 6.00 fee for the all day pass security scanned it and the little scanner denied my card! So now i have a ticket to pay for when in reality i paid fare for. So now im trying to get a similar story to mine so i can prove that what happened to me is possible. I think it was either the little scanner or maybe the driver didn't scan my card right, and i kept on my way. When security checked it showed me guilty!! Has this ever happened to anyone?
